New for 2025 Youth and Student Exhibit submissions

Every year the Festival welcomes submissions to the Youth and Student Art exhibit from students attending schools and art workshops in Marblehead.

Children who live in Marblehead but do not attend one of the local schools are also eligible to enter a piece of artwork to the Youth and Student exhibit and there has been a process where parents can submit their children's art to this exhibit.

For the 2025 Festival year the process to submit children's art has been updated to mirror the process the local artists have been using to enter and label their artwork for exhibits like Painting, Photography, Drawing or Sculpture.

Hopefully this new process will be straightforward and it consists of the following steps

First a parent will open https://users.marbleheadfestival.org in a web browser and login into their Marblehead Festival account. If the parent doesn't have an account its a fairly straight forward process to create a new one with an email address, first and last names.

Next click on the Youth & Student / Youth Art Submissions link in the left hand navigation bar

Click the green Continue... button and this will display a new blank Youth & Student Festival Submission page entry page.

If the parent is submitting for one child they can click back to the Youth Art Submissions page from the navigation bar, if they are entering artwork for more than one child they can fill in the second page or as many pages as needed

Clicking back to the Youth Art Submissions page after all of the children have been entered shows all the entries for this account.

Parents can, completely optionally, click on the blue Details link in the DETAILS column and upload an image of the art work as it might be nice to have a picture of all the children's submissions to Youth and Student

The details page of one of the student submissions also with an optional picture uploaded of an upside down white handprint on a pale green background with a santa hat painted on the top of the hand and the words Ho Ho Ho trailing down from the mouth. Signed Isabella

Finally navigate back to the Youth & Student / Youth Art Submissions page and click the Green Create Art Tags button and this will generate a page in Avery 5160 label format of the art tags, which show the artwork name and unique identification code for each piece, that will identify and track the artwork through drop off, exhibition, judging and People's Choice voting, entries in the Program book and pick up after the Festival.

These Art Tags can be printed on plain paper, cut out and attached to the art pieces or printed directly onto a sheet of Avery 5160 compatible labels and the labels can be stuck to the art pieces.

After this is complete the process is very similar to previous years.

There will be designated dates and times to drop off and retrieve the artwork at Old North Church, the artwork will be on display for the duration of the festival and the Youth and Student entries will all be listed in the program book alongside any awards given by the judges, Best in Show, Honorable Mention, etc.

Our hope is that this new process will be straightforward and allow parents with one or more eligible children to enter their work in the Youth and Student exhibit and be able to look back at previous years to see their children's progress as artists and maybe show off the awards won to family and friends.
