Scholarships

We are proud to offer $3000 scholarships for Marblehead High School students or Marblehead residents graduating from any high school in 2023.

Among the many activities and events sponsored by The Marblehead Festival of Arts over the course of each year, the Festival is particularly proud to support our community by awarding college scholarships to deserving senior students who reside or attend school in Marblehead.

Award Purpose: The objective of the MFoA in awarding these scholarships is to aid the high school graduate to pursue an academic degree in their field of choice within the arts including visual or performing arts, crafts, music or film production.

Award Criteria: The MFoA Scholarship Committee considers general academic and arts achievement, activities both in and outside of school (arts-related and other), honors and/or special citations received related to intended future vocation and financial need. All information is kept confidential.

Application Process: Please complete the application form, available below and provide all the following required information as supplemental attachments and in the below order. Add any additional information you feel is useful.

2022 Recipient

Beth Worrick

The 2022 winner of MFoA’s Art Scholarship, Beth Worrick, is a graduate of Marblehead High School and currently majoring in Photography to receive her BFA at the University of Hartford. Beth has been practicing photography since her sophomore year and quickly grew a passion for it. Although she enjoys digital photography, she has also fallen in love with the process of analog, film, photography. Beth’s artwork has a deep focus on light and storytelling, sharing that light is particularly interesting because it assists in the narration of her work. Beth shares that she is beyond excited to begin this new chapter of her life and pursue the passion she has fallen in love with.

2019 Recipients

Lizzy Tauro

The 2019 winner of MFoA’s Art Scholarship, Lizzy Tauro, a graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School, is majoring in Drama and minoring in Musical Theater at Hofstra University. Since the age of six, Lizzy has loved music and performing. She grew up listening to old family musicals which fed her passion for the theater. She hopes to be a performer in New York someday and Hofstra is her first step to her dream. She would like to thank her family for supporting her through every performance and to every theater company she has worked with.

Mari Aoki

Mari Aoki, the 2019 winner of the Warwick Foundation Scholarship, is attending Berklee College of Music in Boston. Mari is studying vocal performance. Throughout high school, she fully immersed herself in the arts starting the MHS Hip Hop dance club, joining Luminescence (all female acapella group) as the choreographer and the vocal percussionist, doing Marblehead’s Got Talent, and playing Velma Kelly in Chicago. Mari is filled with gratitude to be given this scholarship, especially with a single Mom and is excited for her new start at Berklee.
