Event Center, Abbot Public Library

Award-winning author Carolyn Mackler has written popular novels for elementary school children, teenagers, and — most recently — adults. Take a seat at this fun session and hear her discuss what inspires her, how she does her research, and how she decides to write a novel about someone who is 14 . . .or 40. Carolyn will share with us what drove her to produce her first novel at 25, and what propels her to keep telling stories 25 years later!

About Carolyn Mackler

Carolyn Mackler is the acclaimed author of young adult novels, including among others The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things; Infinite in Between; and The Future of Us. Her middle-grade novel, Not If I Can Help It, has been nominated for several state awards, and her novels have been translated into more than 25 languages. Her most recent book, The Wife App, is her foray into adult novels, and, as the highly admired author Judy Blume notes, this novel is “fresh, funny, empowering, and totally satisfying.”

Along with her husband and two sons, Carolyn lives in New York City. She invites you to visit her online at carolynmackler.com.
