About Phyllis Karas

Phyllis Karas is a former professor of journalism at Boston University, and the author of 11 books, including Brutal,” a New York Times bestseller; The Onassis Women, the subject of a Dateline NBC special; The Women of Southie, optioned by Disney; An Actor and a Gentleman, the story of Louis Gossett, Jr; as well as four young adult novels. Her work has appeared in Vogue, Miami Herald, Boston Magazine and Moment Magazine.  Phyllis balances her writing career with her family life, including her husband and her role as a mother and grandmother. About Doug Grad

Doug Grad, a 37-year veteran of the publishing industry, is the President of Doug Grad Literary Agency. Prior to starting his own agency in 2008, Grad spent the previous 22 years as a Senior Editor at major New York publishing houses, including Simon & Schuster, Random House, Penguin and HarperCollins.  In 2021, he moved to the North Shore with his wife Kimberly Grad, Director of Abbot Public Library.
