These limited-edition calendars connect the 'Headers we love with the books that inspire them. The calendars can be found at Shubie’s Market, Crosby’s Marketplace, and Arnould Gallery & Framery, along with various pop-ups at local holiday events.

There’s a new and innovative holiday gift in town, and Margo Steiner, chair of the Marblehead Festival of Art’s 2026 Literary Festival, is certain all Headers are going to want one or more.

They’re perfect gifts for the upcoming holidays, she notes, “and wouldn’t Marbleheaders who have moved away but still love the town appreciate the nostalgia

For the first time, the literary festival arm of the Festival of Arts has produced a full-color, high-quality 12-month calendar for 2027 featuring all the locals everyone knows and loves.

From Gene Arnould of Arnould Gallery & Framery as Mr. January, to George Shube, owner of Shubie’s the town’s popular epicurean destination, as Mr. December, there’s lots to love inside.

The photos, by photographer Steven Rood, and the layout by MFoA Creative Chair Jessica Briggs, show the town at its very best. Keeping with the literary theme, each poster boy and gal provides a brief quote about what literature means to them, why reading is important, and the magic of books. Even Pippin the Pony’s minder, five-year-old Flora Peach, has something to say: “I like books because of the pictures. I can’t read the words yet, but the pictures tell me the story, and the letters help me to read in school.”

Calendars are currently available at Shubie’s Market, Crosby’s, and Arnould Gallery & Framery. They will also be available to purchase at the Gerry 5’s Holiday Craft Fair on

November 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Other outlets will be available soon, and all sales support the 100% community funded nonprofit Marblehead Festival of Arts. A QR code on the back of each calendar makes it easy for community members to purchase one or more via credit card and other online portals.

A limited edition of 200 calendars await those who purchase early. Once they’re gone, they’re gone for the year!
