The Walking Creative

Sometimes creativity comes when we least expect it. For poet Zoe Culbertson, whose work encompasses healing and nature, the muse often comes to her when she’s walking Marblehead’s rail trail. Join her and writer/poet Katie Naoum Rogers for a Rail Trail Writers Ramble, and learn how they write and walk (but probably not chew gum).

Wear good walking shoes and bring something with which to write. Participants can expect moments of mindfulness as they connect to the surrounding environment through warm-up qi gong, walking meditation, and perhaps a brief standing meditation. The movements will be gentle, and the walk is appropriate for all levels.

Zoe Culbertson and Katie Naoum Rogers co-chair a writing group that meets monthly at the Marblehead Arts Association. Culbertson is a local acupuncturist, meditation teacher and poet whose work revolves around healing and nature. Katie Naoum Rogers is a poet, educator, and editor.
