Performing Arts - Sound & Lights Internship Program
Since 2000, Crocker Park has not only been a Performing Arts venue for the Marblehead Festival of Arts Concerts @ Crocker Park, it has also been a working classroom. Our Concerts@Crocker Park Internship Program has mentored hundreds of college and high school students over the years, teaching live sound and event management from the, “grass up!”
These students learn how to build a stage from that grass up; see all the elements of live concert sound and lighting, plus stage management, performer interaction, crew relationships, neighborhood relations over the days and nights from load in to all the performances and through load out. Many students actually camp out at Crocker Park during the entire Festival for a truly unique educational experience.
One of the wonderful benefits of our MFoA internship program is that now some of the interns have become adult sound and lighting professionals taking vacation time from their jobs to come back and volunteer on our Sound & Light Crew!
If you have a teenage child interested in theatre, music, performances and learning, we invite them to join our crew...“Hey Kids Let’s Have A Show!” Contact Brian Wheeler firstname.lastname@example.org or 617-834-3706
