Marblehead, MA (February 12, 2015) – The Marblehead Festival of Arts invites both aspiring and seasoned filmmakers to submit films for its 2015 Summer Short Film Festival. Film screening is an outdoor event held at Marblehead’s Crocker Park with an additional showing at Abbot Public Library. This year marks the 50th Celebration of the Marblehead Festival of Arts, which will be held Thursday, July 2, through Sunday, July 5, 2015.
“We are looking for works that reflect the independent spirit that short films are famous for” says Mike Evers, co-chair of the Film Festival. “We want to offer broad entertainment appeal from a variety of genres including comedy, drama, documentary, animation and music video. In keeping with our short film concept, submissions should be less than 20 minutes.”
Monetary awards are given for ‘Best of Show’ and ‘Outstanding Work’ with an opportunity for attendees to vote for the ‘People’s Choice’ award. There is an Adult Division (ages 19 and up) as well as a Student Division to encourage young talent of all ages up to 18. The submission deadline is Friday April 17, 2015. For more information including mail-in and on-line submission instructions, please visit the Festival website at www.MarbleheadFestival.org.
