Every year the Marblehead Festival of Arts is represented by a new logo selected from a design competition. On Tuesday, January 17th, this year’s winner of the Festival’s Annual Logo Contest will be announced at a Premiere Party, to be held at the Landing Restaurant, 81 Front Street, Marblehead. The community is invited to attend, meet old and new friends, have a good time

The 2017 Festival logo was chosen by public vote from designs of the three finalists, Alicia Hart, Brooke Pendleton, and Barbara Rafferty. Their logos will be displayed at the Premiere Party along with the top 10 logo entries. Join the festivities. Dinner will be from 5-9 pm. Please call 781-639-1266 for reservations. The premiere celebration, to reveal the winning logo, starts around 7:15.

Judges selected the three finalists from 68 submissions. On the panel were Jean Fogle, Kristen Nyberg, and Lucille Grant Morton. Fogle, painter and graphic artist, owns Pigments of the Imagination and is a former Logo Contest winner. Nyberg, trained in design and illustration, with 20 years of experience in architectural signage, owns Nyberg Designs. Morton, owner of Image Concepts, is a former Committee Chair of the Logo Contest.logo-3-3

The public from Marblehead and the Greater North Shore cast votes to select the winner. The winning logo will be displayed on all products sold during the 2017 Festival as well as on Festival promotional materials throughout the year.

“We had great participation in our logo contest this year, and we are always excited to present the finalists to the town during the holiday season” said Maggie Smist, Co-Chair of the Logo Contest. 

Lesli Mead, Chair of the Logo Premiere, promises the premiere party will offer “a fun time, good food and a great way to start the New Year.” The party begins “a year-long celebration of the 52nd year of the Marblehead Festival of Arts.” Robert Simonelli, Manager of the Landing, is generously donating a percentage of all meals and drinks purchased during the event to support the Festival.

logo2-2Festival Board members will be on hand at the Logo Premiere to answer any questions attendees may have. The 2016 Festival 51st Celebration Slide Show will be on display, featuring the many year-round activities the Festival sponsors.
