The bright blur of dancing hats and twinkling champagne filled glasses from last week’s Champagne Reception remain a pleasant memory, but as they say the “show must go on”.
The ribbons and awards are set to go for Friday night’s awards ceremony on the grounds of Abbot Hall (and you’re invited). The display flats are filled with area artist’s great paintings, drawings, photographs awaiting your critical eye and appreciation. Somewhere musicians are tuning their instruments and packing their equipment for the four days and/or nights of a spectrum of different styles musical entertainment sure to please every musical appetite. Budding and experienced artists of the written word can rest their feet and participate in the Writer’s World workshops at the UU Church on Mugford St. The Children’s Festival, and Street Festival and Boat Building/Race are set to roll with tons of activities and family fun. Hey, even the Devereux Beach is waiting to provide the Sand Sculpture competition and Kite Flying. Let’s not forget the Artisans’ Market at Abbot Hall on Saturday and Sunday for you shoppers and artistic collectors looking for that unique gift or craft. Last, but not least, don’t forget to celebrate our great country’s independence with the Fireworks and Harbor Illumination from our friends at Fireworks Forever.
The hard work is done and all we need is you and your family to come and enjoy what we believe will be another wonderful Marblehead Festival of Arts.
