Leslie Gould has been the Executive Director for the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce for the past eight years. An award winning cable television producer, Gould began her career in Marblehead at MediaOne's MHTV-3, where she was the Anchor/Reporter for the weekly newscast, Headliner: The News of Marblehead. She also produced original programming for the station, covered weekly Selectmen's meetings, and hosted live Town Meeting and Election Night programs. Leslie has graciously agreed to be a guest auctioneer (after Tishey threatened to never attend another Chamber event if she didn't agree).
Gould is a Swampscott native who loved growing up in a coastal community. After graduating Swampscott High School, Leslie attended Boston University and graduated in 1990 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
As a teenager, Gould took bike rides into Marblehead and fell in love with its irresistible combination of charm, majesty, and history. After college, she took the plunge and crossed the line, moving from Swampscott to Marblehead in 1992. As she says, "I truly love all things Marblehead. The people and organizations I've had the honor of working with have truly enriched my life. I've been to Rome and I've been to Paris, but I'll always come home to Marblehead."
She currently is a member of the Marblehead Rotary Club and the Marblehead 20/20 Downtown Redevelopment Committee, a Board member of the North of Boston Convention and Visitor Bureau, and Commissioner for the Essex National Heritage Commission.
In her spare time, Leslie loves SHOPPING, photography, kayaking and listening to music, going to the movies and the beach, spending time with her friends and family, and going for long walks. She's a Madonna freak, a closet disco diva, a practical joker, and she doesn't take herself too seriously.
And yes, that was Leslie, with sunglasses, on page 4. |
