Festival Trolley & Satellite Parking

Festival TrolleyFestival Parking in Old Marblehead is a challenge anytime, and almost impossible during the Festival. The Festival provides a free trolley from satellite parking at Marblehead High School to the majority of Festival Events and Exhibits.

The 51th Marblehead Festival of Arts trolley will run on:

Saturday, July 2nd – 9:30am to 6:00pm,
Sunday, July 3rd – 11:30am to 6:00pm 
Monday, July 4th – 9:30am to 5:00pm

Please note:
1. There are alternate route schedules on different days to accommodate related events and anticipated traffic issues.
3. We do not post “trolley stop” schedules because of the variety of variables which are impossible to predict.

Basic Trolley Route

  1. Stop: Marblehead High School Stop, 2 Humphrey Street, – ¾’s of the way around the circle
            The adjacent parking lot is being used for satellite parking.
  2. Stop at Barnard and Atlantic – [Jambu, Fish Store, Irresistibles, Java Sun] – go up Barnard to the Swampscott Art Assoication’s exhibit at Brush Strokes
  3. Stop at Shubie’s Market Place, 16 Atlantic Ave
  4. Stop at Abbot Hall – Artisan’s Marketplace, Logo Products, Info booth, Painting, Drawing, Crafts, Printmaking.
  5. NOTE – AT NOON TILL 4.00pm, LOWER WASHINGTON ST FROM ROCKAWAY TO THE OLD TOWN HOUSE IS BLOCKED OFF FOR THE STREET FESTIVAL – SO PLEASE SEE THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW FOR THE TIME BETWEEN NOON AND 4PM.
  6. Stop at Lee Mansion – Marblehead Arts Association – Painting the Town, Tea Room
  7. Stop at Summer St – St Michael’s – Mixed Media, Sculpture, Lobster rolls
  8. Stop at Old Town House – Painting, Info booth
  9. Stop at The Landing Restaurant [Front and State Sts] – walk back down Front St to Crocker Park – Performing Arts – noon to 3.30 and 6pm to 10.30pm
  10. Stop at Old North Church, Washington St – Student and Youth Exhibit
  11. Stop at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Mugford St – Logo exhibit, Senior Art, Writers’ World – Workshops, Readings Essays/Poetry
  12. Then back to Pleasant St
  13. Then back to the High School

 ALTERNATE ROUTE FOR SUNDAY, JULY 3rd FROM NOON TO 4PM (Due to Street Festival)

The last Street Festival time [noon to4pm], stop will be Abbot Hall. See #4 above

  1. From Abbot Hall the Trolley will go down Washington St, stop at Lee Mansion, [get off for Street Festival, Marblehead Arts Association, St Michael’s Church – see #6, 7 above for exhibits]
  2. The Trolley will take a left onto Rockaway and go up to Elm Street and to the Unitarian Universalist Church [see #11 above for exhibits]
  3. The trolley will stop at the Old Town House – Photography, Info Booth, Street Festival.
  4. The trolley will then go down State St to the Landing Restaurant – see #9 above for exhibits.
  5. It will continue the above route. see #10 and following. 

Satellite parking will be available in the parking lot at Marblehead High School. Marblehead High 01.07.03_119_400x250[1]School (MHS) is situated at 2 Humphrey Street, which is where Humphrey, Lafayette, and Pleasant Streets intersect. Park in the lower lot on the left. The Trolley pickup area will be in the lower left of the circle as you come into the school entrance. Festival signs will be posted.
