The summer is upon us! It’s time to gather those books for your summer reading, or maybe you need a card for graduation or new baby, or even a gift for that someone special ….. and to top it off, you want to Shop Local! Here’s a great opportunity to do it all and support the Festival of Arts.
On the evening of Tuesday, May 30th, the Spirit of ’76 Bookstore will host a fundraising event for the Marblehead Festival of Arts (MFoA). From 6:00 to 8:00 pm, the bookstore will track sales and donate 20% of that to the MFoA. The Spirit of ’76, a long beloved independent bookstore and institution of the town of Marblehead, is located at 107 Pleasant Street, on the corner of Pleasant and School Streets.
Festival board members will be present to chat about events and explain how interested folks can help and participate. The Marblehead Festival of Arts is an all-volunteer organization that operates year-round and relies solely on donations to fund its operations. Individual, families, and businesses may become Festival Sponsors by making a tax-deductible contribution. For additional information of MFoA, visit www.MarbleheadFestival.org.
In its long time support of the Festival, the Spirit of ’76 Bookstore is reflecting steadfast interest in the town and local affairs. Though it provides a full selection of fiction and non-fiction works, it has always showcased works on local and nautical history. Beyond that, the store is known for: facilitating used and out-of-print searches; its children’s books; quality greeting card lines; and superior customer service. Tickets for Festival events are available at the Spirit of ’76.
