Wendy Snow-Lang – Graphic Novel Workshop
Bio: Wendy is the writer and artist of Night’s Children, the 1990s vampire graphic series that blazed new trails in graphic horror with a mature look at sex and blood and world history. She is also a co-founder of a large writers’ group in Salem, and the proprietor of The Art Corner, a custom-framing business at 264 Washington St., Salem. Wendy has been working there for 30 years and became the owner 12 years ago.
Wendy is co-producer of Salem’s annual art show Terror Fantasies, a major 27-year tradition of Salem’s Haunted Happenings, featuring paintings and prints by Wendy and her husband, Charles Lang. The show moves from site to site each year as a Pop Up exhibit.
Workshop Description – Graphic Story-telling
Today she will discuss the creation of a graphic novel, how she took a story and transformed it into panels, pages and finished stories – how to pace action and reaction so that the reader is pulled along with her as a story unfolds.
She has a lot to tell us about graphic story-telling, and art is the focus of her life.
