Thank you for your interest and participation in our Annual Art Auction Fundraiser
See next year.
Despite cold snaps and blizzards, spring is not far away and with it the annual Art Auction mounted by the Marblehead Festival of Arts. This fundraiser for the Summer festival will be held the evening of Saturday, April 29th, at Abbot Hall, from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. This event will feature works of local craftspeople and businesses. Tickets for the auction are available at Shubies, Arnould Gallery, and the Spirit of ’76 Bookstore for $35. Tickets may also be purchased on-line for $30. This year there will also be a free preview, Friday night, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
The auction is really two auctions, one live and one silent. The works are many and varied. The silent auction will also include gift certificates for things such as services, passes to museums, or a night at a restaurant. At present, the committee arranging the auction is still soliciting donations of artwork and gift certificates.
New Auction Feature This Year
This year’s auction will include a new program, “small works—buy it now.” This is not part of either the live or the silent auction. Instead it is a direct sale of art on a first come, first serve basis. “Small works” is defined as small pieces that will sell for $250 or less. Such works would include framed items or works on stretched canvas that are no larger than 11” x 14”. The committee is also looking for sculpture, blown glass, and pottery no larger than 12” tall. Jewelry will also be included.
At present, the committee arranging the auction is still soliciting donations of artwork and gift certificates. To send questions to us by email click here: General Mailbox.
